Company ProfileDavis Nursery Inc. was founded by J.D. and Venna Leavitt Davis on August 7, 1951. The business was originally ran out of their home, located at 524 West Bonanza Road. J.D. and Venna started their business by selling and delivering steer manure in bulk around town. A few months later, the nursery began selling small trees and shrubs, including 1 gallon roses and 5 gallon fruit trees. In December of 1959, Davis Nursery moved to its current location, at 2701 East Bonanza Road, where they began selling larger shade trees, as another residential boom hit the valley and large box trees were in demand. The nursery began evolving into a wholesale/retail store thru the years. Sitting on approximately 2 1/2 acres, it quickly became the largest nursery in town. In 1995, Davis Nursery purchased 15 acres of land in Warm Springs, NV. This location holds large specimen trees and poses as the nursery's growing yard. The nursery is still owned and operated by it's original owner Venna Davis, along side her children and grandchildren. |
